Dixie Cup- Thanksgiving Weekend 2013

This year our family did something a little different for Thanksgiving.  We spent Thanksgiving in St. George.  We have always spent this holiday with our family but Taylor had a chance to play soccer in St. George and we LOVE spending time there so we decided to try something new.  We missed our families and I missed my sisters and our Black Friday shopping!  We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving with some wonderful friends!!
I didn't get many photos of our actual Thanksgiving dinner but we had a wonderful meal.  Above are Jeff and Ray carving the turkey.  We spent Thanksgiving with the Larsens, Clarks and Tippets.  It was a delightful day.  Below are a few of the girls eating dinner the night before Thanksgiving.  We all arrived either Tuesday night or Wednesday afternoon.  On Thanksgiving we ate, watched football, sat in the hot tub and many people in our group went to a movie.  I did get my Black Friday shopping in with my good friend Stephanie Tippets.  We both were a little disappointed with the lack on intensity from the St. George shoppers!   In St. George there are no crowds, no lines and few people.  We were able to get everything we set out for!  We really did have a great time!!

The day after Thanksgiving the girls had 2 games.  They won the first and tied the second.  The entire tournament was a defensive tournament and Tsunami's defensive did not disappoint.  Taylor played some awesome soccer again some incredible teams.  I think Tsunami had 1 or 2 goals scored on us the entire tournament!  On Friday the girls played their last game at 7:00 in St. George.  Jordan had a dance  performance in Logan the next day so Jordan and I left St. George at 8:00 at night.  We drove to Salt Lake and stayed and then made it to Logan for Jord to dance by noon the next day.  Jeff stayed until Sunday with Taylor and the rest of the families.
The girls went and saw Catching Fire and loved it!
 Waiting between games
The team is raising money to provide Christmas for a little girl named Lili.  She is 8 years old and has cancer.  We made special jersey's just for this tournament and the girls dedicated it to Lili.  It was super tender!

On day 2 the girls won their first game and lost their second game.  Because the tournament was based off a points system Tsunami still wins gold!  Congrats girls!!

Tay and JT:  Two of my favorite people ever!  Jeff is a great soccer dad!

The girls were able to play on some beautiful venues.  Taylor took this picture!

Overall it was a really fun weekend.  Both the girls and the families had fun!!  Another successful tournament in the books for Tsunami

I can't close this post without special thanks to the Watrins for tending Belle for us.  They watch her every time we go anywhere.  She loves them!!  When Jordan and I picked her up from this trip the girls were teaching her how to jump through a hoola hoop.   Kim puts a warm blanket on her after they take her on walks and look how cute Kinni is playing with her below.  When any of the Watrin's come over to our house Belle whines to go over to their house.  We are so grateful the they love her so much!
